B5.5 Passat

The fourth generation, B5 and B5.5, was produced from 1997 and 2006. In 2001 the Passat received updates to the style and engine system. Revisions included projector headlights, bumpers, tail lights, and trim. A 4.0 liter engine was introduced in 2001. The fifth generation, B6 and B7, was released in 2005 and manufactured until 2015.
