This troubleshooting page will help you diagnose problems with the Altec Lansing BoomJacket.
Speaker Will Not Turn On
The speaker will not respond or show any sign of powering up.
Faulty Power Adapter
Ensure the power adapter is plugged in and the charge light is on. If the light is not on, and the adapter is plugged in, the adapter is faulty or the speaker is fully charged. Consider purchasing a replacement adapter.
Faulty Battery
If the power adapter is plugged in, and the light on the adapter is on, make sure the adapter is connect to the speaker. If the speaker only powers up when the adapter is plugged in, regardless of charging time, then the battery is faulty. Replace the battery.

Broken Power Button
If the power adapter is plugged in, and the light on the adapter is on, make sure the adapter is connect to the speaker. If the speaker still does not powers up when the adapter is plugged in, regardless of charging time, then the power button might be faulty.
Speaker Powers Off On Its Own
The speaker will turn on or off randomly without you physically turning it on or off.
Broken Power Button
If the power adapter is plugged in, and the light on the adapter is on, make sure the adapter is connect to the speaker. If the speaker still does not powers up when the adapter is plugged in, regardless of charging time, then the power button might be faulty.
Volume Rises and Lowers On Its Own
If the speakers volume changes with out you pressing on the on the volume button to increase or decrease the volume

If the speakers volume changes with out you pressing on the on the volume button to increase or decrease the volume then the power/volume button may be faulty.
Audio is Distorted
The audio either cuts in and out or is very scratchy sounding.
Loose Auxiliary Jack
Test audio using the Bluetooth feature, then test it using the auxiliary cord. If the audio is only distorted while listening via the auxiliary cord, the audio jack or the auxiliary cord may be faulty. Audio that cuts in and out is often a sign of a loose audio jack, so make sure the audio jack is fully inserted in the speaker.
Bad Bluetooth Connection
A conflicting signal may be responsible for connectivity issues. Consider turning off nearby wireless devices and reconnecting the device you are using. If the problem continues the Bluetooth board may need replacing.
